LAGER WITH SOUL
AN INTRODUCTION
Korev, like all lagers, contains three main ingredients which, when yeast is added, are magically transformed into Korev, the lager we know and love.

BARLEY STARTS EVERYTHING
Korev is brewed through natural processes using the finest cornish barley malts and spring water, enhanced by our skilled brewers to create the perfect, and distinctive, lager.
Natural
A grain full of goodness, naturally containing protein, fibre and starch.
Soaking
First the barley is lovingly soaked to begin the germination process. This naturally unlocks the goodness from the grain.
Malting
After soaking, the barley is slowly heated to dry out. This meticulous process is called malting.
WATER IS NEXT
Water (or Liquor as we brewers like to call it) is the main ingredient in lager, it can make up an incredible 95% of the finished product. Being such a vital ingredient, only the highest quality Cornish spring water is used and comes directly from our own source where the water is purified through age old granite.
HOPS
A plant full of flavour is next
Hops give lager its bitterness and can also contribute to the aroma. There are many varieties of hops, each with a distinctive flavour; from spicy aromas to mild herbal flavours.
Korev is flavoured with the Saaz hop variety, which is low in bitterness and high in delicate herbal aromas, giving Korev unique, crisp taste.
Selecting the right hop is an art form in itself. The hops are added to the boiling water.
Now only one addition remains.
YEAST
Completes the process
Now it’s time for the yeast to work its magic and begin the natural process of fermentation: converting sugar into alcohol and CO2. This is the part of the process that gives Korev it’s uniquely crisp lager taste. We don’t rush perfection, which is why Korev lager is carefully left to mature so that the flavour can develop even further
AND KOREV IS BORN!
And that’s how we lovingly create Korev…
our Cornish lager with soul!
